Chill in the Air…

Autumn has definitely arrived as we all turn the dial on our heating thermostat and contemplate our winter wardrobe! I have been concentrating on our winter stock here in the shop and I have to say, we have quite a variety of new wool and some fabulous modern patterns to go with them. Katia are one of my favourite brands at the moment, apart from a gorgeous selection of wool they are also very innovative in their patterns and you can be sure when you knit something from their selection, it will be fashionable and beautiful to wear. Their Concept Cotton Merino is a fabulous blend of cotton and merino which is cosy soft and has an almost translucent quality. We have some lovely free patterns in store to accompany this subtle yarn but its hard to keep on the shelves, I have reordered three times in the last three weeks. This time I have extended the colour range. I also have in stock the ethereal alpaca silver which is just perfect for Christmas knits, gifts etc. We also have some new felting kits, perfect for beginners and which make excellent presents. It has been a busy week and I have enjoyed getting all these new products out on display.

On a personal note I had a pulling out session on a sleeve of my new jumper, the pattern does not lend itself well to decreases and I have tried every computation of the instructions but finally decided to do my own thing and decrease in a way that gave me the aesthetic look I wanted. I need to get it finished because this chill in the air is only going to get chillier. Shop time beckons, bye for now.. Stay safe everyone …..
